The Young Lords Organization started out as a Chicago Puerto Rican street gang and became politicized under the influence of the Black Panther Party. The Young Lords Party in New York City started as a chapter and then spun off on its own. I sold the Chicago lords' newspape, Pitirreat my high school and helped with some projects (like People's Park, pictured in the poster).
